The Marksman’s Initiation is a structured live-fire experience created for newer shooters who are ready to move from foundational firearm-safety training to practical range instruction.
The course begins with one hour of classroom preparation covering universal firearm-safety rules, range commands, proper range etiquette, safe firearm handling, and shooting fundamentals. Students then receive two hours of closely supervised range instruction.
Live-fire exercises begin with a low-recoil .22 semi-automatic handgun before progressing to a 9mm handgun. This gradual progression allows students to develop proper technique, become comfortable with recoil, and build confidence through measurable improvement.
Students practice at increasing distances while receiving individual guidance on grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, accuracy, and safe firearm operation. The course concludes with a 25-round qualification that gives each student a clear measure of their progress.

This course bridges the gap between basic knowledge and real-world capability. You will start with a comprehensive classroom session that reinforces the Universal Firearm Safety Rules and range etiquette. Using Mantis X technology, you will practice safe firearm handling and essential shooting fundamentals before stepping onto the firing line.
We believe that true proficiency is earned, not given. The most reliable shooters aren't always the naturals—they are the ones who put in the work, understand every nuance, and build their skills piece by piece. This class is about transforming nervousness into disciplined, reliable capability that you carry with you everywhere.
Prerequisite: Completion of foundational firearm-safety training, such as the Veterans First New Shooter Accelerator.
