Where is Veterans First Gun Safety Services located?

Veterans First Gun Safety Services is located at 516 South Marlyn Ave., Essex, MD 21221. Training is available by appointment and during scheduled class hours.

Does Veterans First Gun Safety Services have its own firing range?

We do not operate our own firing range. We work with FreeState Gun Range, located at 11500 Crossroads Circle, Suite J, Middle River, MD 21220, for applicable range training.

What certifications do the Veterans First instructors hold?

Our team holds a range of professional credentials, including Maryland State Police Qualified Handgun Instructor, USCCA instructor, Range Safety Officer, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. Some team members hold additional Utah and specialized safety-training credentials. Visit our Team page for each instructor’s individual qualifications.

What time does the classes start?

Class starting times vary by course and scheduled date. Review the class schedule and your registration confirmation for the correct arrival and starting times. Please contact us before class if you have questions about your schedule.

Am I required to bring my own handgun to the range?

No. If you do not own a handgun, one can be made available for use during the qualification portion of your training. Please confirm equipment and ammunition arrangements with us before your class.

What if I am unsure which type of handgun to purchase?

We offer weapons consultations to help you understand important factors such as fit, comfort, intended use, operation, and experience level. We can also connect students with BMore Tactical in Essex for additional purchasing assistance.
