This is more than a basic firearm class. Our 16-hour Maryland Wear and Carry Permit course provides a comprehensive foundation in responsible handgun ownership, personal protection, safe firearm operation, and the legal responsibilities associated with carrying a handgun.

The course is designed to meet Maryland’s training requirements for an initial Wear and Carry Permit application. Students receive classroom instruction in Maryland firearm laws, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, legal use of force, safe handling and storage, and the realities and aftermath of a violent encounter.

The course also includes the required live-fire range component. New handgun owners are welcome, and you do not need to own a handgun before attending. Contact us before class to confirm firearm, ammunition, fingerprinting, range, and application arrangements.
